    Tricia:

I am so very, very sorry that this phase of your lives has come to this end. Even expected, it is so very hard to imagine how the next years will be without your darling, your love, Chris and Erica's Dad, Katie and Fuzzy's father-in-law, etc.

We will pray for the repose of his soul. I am greatful that God gave you all the rally of strength and awareness yesterday -- those will be some of your most treasured memories.

May the peace of the Lod be with you all.

I'm so proud of you all for being brave and making his passing such a beautiful experience. That is such an overwhelmingly wonderful thing. I wish I could say more- when I want to think about staying positive in the face of darkness I will think of the Reids.

This is a beautiful photo and how I remember David (although I never saw him in that great hat). It's the big smile, the twinkle in his eyes.

When my time comes, if I'm surrounded by half as much love and prayers as David, I'll be able to go in peace.

    Much love and prayers.

I love David like a brother! I have three heros in my life, my step-father, Ronald Reagan and David Reid. Now all three have gone and the world is not as good today as it was yesterday. By knowing David I have learned how to be a better Father, Husband, Worker, Friend and person. I have told David this in the past because I wanted him to know what a great guy he is, he would be the last to admit it but I wanted him to know. I know he does not want us to be sad(we will all need your help with that buddy)I love you guys!

I am so sorry for this unspeakable loss you are facing. And so grateful you were all able to hold him as you said goodbye. I cannot imagine how much this hurts, but you all have been such a beautiful example of love and bravery. I am, as always, so grateful to be a part of the Reid family. I love you all so much.

Tricia, You know I love you. Although I can't be there physically right now; I will always be with you spiritually. I will try to be there in January, if I physically can, after everyone has gone home and you're still there; I will come be with you awhile. David is no longer suffering, thank God, but you and the kids and his mother, and the rest of us will miss him forever. As I told you, I hope to see David real soon and I hope to be in Vicksburg in January. Love you my birthday sister, Suzanna

I have read this blog for a while now, and you are so lucky to be with him as he passed. I wasnt that lucky, I was only 4 hours away when My mom died of uterine cancer last year. I know exactly what all of you are going through and I feel priveleged to know that other people have went through the same highs and lows of this experience. Its great to know a wonderful family like your exists even without knowing you.

Thank you for posting the photo, Tricia. I'm very sorry for your loss. In the Pope's new letter, he speaks of our time here as an "exile." In grief we know this truth as at no other time. Count on my prayers.

I've followed your blog for a few months... my husband and I lived in Vicksburg but are now in Pennsylvania. Today, reading your blog, I realized that I went to Hinds with Chris. Your whole family is in our thoughts and prayers. My heart breaks for you all, even though we know David is with Jesus, I know you will miss him!
    Sending love and prayers,
